Hot ot Cold

We're on holiday at the moment and the couple who own the cottage we're renting told us to help ourselves to anything we fancy in the garden. They've got loads of rhubarb so I made a rhubarb crumble - now I love this but I only like it cold but OH only likes it hot. No problem these days thanks to microwaves but OH likes all puds like rice, apple pie etc. hot whilst I much prefer them straight out of the fridge - how about you?

No rice puddings for me, under any circumstances. But for everything else, either fairly hot, or properly cold. Anything but room temperature. (Puhleeeze..... )

Same goes for (savoury) flans and quiches. But ideally without the custard.

I was a late teenager when I fund out that most had it cold
mind you anyone who tasted mum's hot version said it was better

Hot at source, cold thereafter, depending on item. Some things don't reheat well.

Now there I have to take issue. Case in point being cheese & onion pie - good hot or room temperature, but not cold.

Very simple solution. You have the crumble cold, but then you pour some lovely smooth HOT custard over it et voila.....happy wife happy marriage! or t'other way round. I can't take any pud like that without something covering it, as normally too dry unless rice pud or dollops of ice cream.
