Re: Cottage Pie - the Ultimate Comfort Food
What, no cheese in and on the mash?
Sacrilege.
Skip the Maggi and just use soy sauce.
And no to the horseradish in the mash.
But otherwise not bad.
Mind you my ultimate comfort food is Tatty Pot.
Much the same ingredients, but more liquid and the potatoes are sliced and placed on the top, overlapped. But the gravy still bubbles through, round and over giving wonderful flavour.

Yes, I've sometimes done sliced potatoes on top, but soy sauce? Not sure I feel confident enough to venture into fusion cooking...
I usually just use worcestershire sauce but recently I found the Maggi liquid seasoning, it it just so nice on top of grilled cheese sancwich, very umami.
