My Nationwide Visa CC didn,t accept the PIN at the ASDA till on Wednesday despite having just bought petrol earlier with it. The contactless worked.

Today the PIN didn,t work again but the contactless did at ASDA.

Didn,t ASDA and Visa have a problem a while ago?

Sorry for the delay - I would understand the other way round as the contactless randomly forces a backup verification (a pin)

Why was your default method to use the pin not contactless anyway?

Several days later the pin worked in another shop.

After that the pin then had trouble in Asda again and the lady behind the counter said that Asda had equipment problems with Visa.

The truth finally emerged!
