There seems to be some positive mention of their commitment towards VCTs and EIS schemes that is deep within the document. The AIM market jumped quite a bit today which makes me feel better.

As I'm sure I've said here (aha, here for instance), AIM was under the shadow of expectations of a possible exodus by IHT planners. So I don't think we can infer anything fundamental from a bounce today.

My worry would be that the increased burden on businesses, particularly the rise in jobs tax, will hurt portfolio companies and drag on VCT performance.

What document did you find those VCT and EIS references in?

https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... sible_.pdf

3.56 to 3.63 prattles on about supporting 2035 and various initiatives but I don’t hold out much hope of anything tangible beyond the existing schemes.

There may be more but I haven’t read the whole 170 pages yet. Just wanted to reassure that we (VCT/EIS) were in there.

Since my previous post, google found me https://ifamagazine.com/relief-for-tax- ... -reaction/ . That and other links on the site come across as pretty-convincing budget commentary.

Mainwarings post says it all. Hopefully we will be left alone.
