Latest on the Liquidation of Artemis VCT - goto

https://www.artemisfunds.com/en/gbr/investor/funds-and-prices/notifications/artemis-vct-liquidation

and select the communication from the liquidator of September 2021

I am pleased to confirm I have received full clearance from HMRC to conclude the MVL. I will now
attend to all closure matters including preparing my final report and making the final distribution
to the shareholders. It is intended that this distribution will be paid in October 2021.
Thereafter, the Company can be formally dissolved from Companies House

Ali,

The Cheque comes with a letter and short report from the liquidator which shows how the distributions have been derived.

All looked in order when I checked mine.

I expect that it is right but I found it confusing that the share price was about 15 p since October 2020. I doubt whether this price could have been traded at. If it had I would have got more.

AAM was quite a ride with thrills and spills. The dividends and capital return to me were 2.75 times what I paid for it over 17 years. I never bought any more AIM VCTs after the initial problems but I suppose that I got out with my shirt.

I have no clue how to calculate or/check if I have got all aim entitled to. I remember for a long while it was one of the most successful aim vcts and the dividends were good while they lasted but I reckon it should have never been wound up- many thanks for the replies

Given an original purchase in April 2005 (with tax rebate) and a partial enhanced buy-back in February 2012 (with tax rebate), then the overall XIRR = 10.4%
However assuming that there had been no tax rebates, and no enhanced buy-back, then the XIRR= 4.59%

The NAV quoted at 30/9/2020 (RNS 6081A) was 19.85p per share. The total number of shares quoted at 31/7/2020 (RNS 8376U) was 52,493,516. So multiplying these we get £10,419,962. The liquidators realised £10,550,661 - slightly better than I expected, especially since small company shares are notoriously illiquid.

Yes - after a very rocky start with falling AIM prices, this VCT has made a strong recovery - but it looks like Artemis didn't think it was a profitable venture, and don't seem interested in continuing with VCTs.
