Going, going ...
Two days from the opening of the British Smaller offer, RNS to say they've raised £10m of £40m. Earlybird offer applied to the first £10m.
This on top of the Amati rush, and the £40m Octopus AIM offer filling in less than a month. There's a veritable wall of money out there!

Uncle
Not to mention that Hargreave Hale vct is over £17m now of a £20m offer plus an over allotment facility.
It does seem that VCT's are becoming ever more popular, we have Octopus Titan & Apollo coming very soon as well.
Maven, on the other hand, have only raised £1m in over 2 weeks on a £20m plus over allotment offer, which is odd because the performance of Maven vct's has been certainly respectable over the years. Perhaps investors are concerned at the change of ownership to Mattioli Woods recently ?

Re: Going, going ...
They've been left in the dust a bit haven’t they, Maven, with everyone else’s growth investments showing eye catching performance, while they are still rolling along doing the odd 2x exit.
GenInCode might be an exception, although still not sure how much it actually returned, anyone?
British Smallers early bird went very quickly too.

Yes, it is curious this has received such a lacklustre response. In my own case, I was fully expecting to add to my holding of Maven, but then BSC came up the next day, which derailed that plan.

Boots
It looks like the punters were right to take up these vct's like they are going out of fashion, the Titan trust just announced a 20.5% uplift in nav today in the 6 months from end Dec to end June.
Cazoo has been a big help but they have had some serious successes other than that. I realise that their pricing tends to be to perfection but they are paying a specialdivi as well on these numbers.
Happy days for holders of this, the biggest vct by a country mile.

Sinterklaas
Indeed it is some going, Baronsmead have just opened today as well, that is likely to go pretty fast too.

Re: Going, going ...
Extraordinarily, it appears Octopus Titan VCT has already filled its offer.
This was not like Apollo: it included the overallotment facility.
Fortunately I got in on time. £200 million, and before the early bird had even finished.

Re: Going, going ...
Hmmm.
If I were in Mr Sunak's shoes (with more sophisticated ways to avoid tax at my disposal, but wanting to collect more) I'd be eyeing up this flood of money and considering grabbing some of it. The obvious mechanism would be a reduction in the 30% up front, maybe back to 20%.

Re: Going, going ...
Now why would you say that.
The reason money is flowing in is, it's working. VCTs are working, at last - funding genuine growth businesses and providing fuel for UK entrepreneurship. Helping toward strategic goal for the nation and the economy. So why would any sane politician think this is the time to deter it now with taxes.
