As a matter of interest, the facility of just keying in the first letter when adding a company to a portfolio does not move the list to that part. That used to work for a short while, many versions ago, but now doesn't - for me anyway!
That does sound odd, granretire. I just tried adding JUST to the end of the company data sheet, and it worked fine, as I would expect (tested with Excel 2010 and 2016 on Windows 10). The macro just searches down the company data sheet for the relevant entry and uses the first match it finds. If that match is the last entry, that's OK. In column A, are you sure you had the leading forward slash (/equity/Just_Group, not equity/Just_Group). Leaving out the leading slash does create an error similar to what you reported.
When adding a share, keying in the first letter to move to that part of the list also works fine for me. We haven't touched that piece of code for a long time. Very mysterious!
