Invertegate alerts run wild !!!

#357512

Postby Breelander » November 17th, 2020, 11:07 pm

All previous posts in this forum about Invertegate alerts have complained of being slow or not being delivered at all...

Search forum results for 'investegate alert': search.php?keywords=investegate+alert&fid%5B0%5D=27

Today they have gone into overdrive. I have had multiple copies of almost every alert I've signed up for, sent about 30 minutes to an hour apart. So far I have 10 copies of each, the first arriving before lunch, the latest repeat a couple of minutes ago.

Same here - nothing since 21/10/2019.

Perhaps you're higher up the list

Probably retribution for spelling Investegate incorrectly.

Possibly your mail server is reporting back a temporary delivery problem or a defer, despite having accepted the message, so the sending server is retrying?

If you have your own domain under cPanel or WHM you can look at the delivery reports under their control panels. Or if not, or maybe anyway, you can check it out with the MXToolbox.com tools....

Possibly, but my email address for these alerts is a BT Internet one.

Anyway, the duplicates all stopped on the dot at midnight. Back to normal service today so there's nothing to check (now).

I received two different alerts for PLI about half a dozen times each yesterday.

It definitely wasn't just you...

I had about 33 InvestEgate emails in my in-box first thing this morning, which definitely weren't there at around 10pm last night, and most of which were repeat alerts.

Things seem to have settled down this morning, so hopefully just a one-off...

Cheers,

Itsallaguess

Thank you, so I'm not going mad after all (well, not about that anyway) :D

By the end of today I had 20 new alerts - and crucially none of them were duplicates. Yes, looks like a one-off glitch.

It looks like this issue has reared it's head again.

So far, six emails today for LWI's Annual Report...

Yes, so far I have eight copies of each alert, spaced approximately an hour apart. If last time is anything to go by it will continue all day, only stopping at midnight.

Well, this time round the duplicate alerts didn't stop until 'Wed, 9 Dec at 04:35', the timestamp of my last duplicate.

Apparently all back to normal now.

Same here.

But a false alarm this afternoon when I received a second email regarding a dividend announcement for STS.

But it was just a replacement for the original, as they'd got the dates wrong :)
