HYPTUSS watchlist

#402929

Postby granretire » April 9th, 2021, 3:40 pm

I wanted to follow a couple of shares (Fevertree and ITM). As they were not in the company data sheet, I added them at the end. I obtained the Yahoo prices OK, but when I ran get forecast yields, I got 'Run-time error '91'. Object variable or with block variable not set.
What have I done wrong?

If you have problems with Forecast Yields, you have incorrect data in column A of the company data sheet.

I've updated the tab-delimited file company_data_sheet.txt at http://lemonfoolfinancialsoftware.weebl ... op-up.html

Updated with the data sheet. A couple of queries
London Stock exchange is now LSEG (was LSE)
Reckitt Benckiser Group is now RKT (was RB)
But now when I go to add a share I get
Run-time error
Could not set the RowSource property. Invalid property value
This occurs as soon as I click on 'add a share'
Now what have I done?

Thanks for the info about the changes. I've updated the company_data_sheet.txt at http://lemonfoolfinancialsoftware.weebl ... op-up.html

Difficult to know what causes your error since I don't know what you have changed. Page 18 of the User Guide explains how to add shares to the Company Data Sheet

I updated the company data sheet with the latest copy, and then went to add a share into the HYP by clicking on the label 'add share'. And just got the runtime error.

How are you updating the Company Data Sheet? If you delete it and then add the new one you will probably destroy some of the references used by the macro.

The recommended way is:
1. open your HYPTUSS
2. Open the new company_data_sheet.txt in Excel
3. In your HYPTUSS data sheet, select all cells, right-click and select “Clear all contents”
4. On the new new data sheet, select all cells, right-click and select “Copy”
5. On the HYPTUSS data sheet, select cell A1, right-click and select “Paste”

Hope this helps

Maybe a bit of a stupid question, but by doing it this way don't you lose the companies (rows) in your own sheet that you have added yourself?

No such thing as a stupid question, though I have proven many times that I am capable of stupid answers

You are right. If you have customised rows of your own, keep them to the top of your data sheet, then delete all the rest of the rows. Then in step 5 above, select the first empty cell in column A, right-click and select Paste. This will create an extra header row (in the cell you selected before Paste) and this should then be deleted.

Many ways to skin this particular cat, and I have to assume some basic Excel knowledge. The absolutely key thing is to not delete the data sheet and then insert a new sheet.

Maybe I need to review the User Guide to expand upon this

In the end I downloaded 11.74 (again), and am pleased to say all seemed to have worked OK.
Many thanks for your help Kiloran
