Buttons not working 2 top rows.
I have just updated to the latest HYPTUS 11.80. This was following a computer OS problem which caused me to reload the OS Win 10 64 bit. I also had to reload Excel 2007.
The problem is that trying to enter the first share after BP. in the new HYPTUS I discovered none of the buttons are working. I have checked the Trust Centre and enabled Macros and I can't see anything else wrong.
Also tried running in Compatability mode for Win 8 and XL. Still no luck.
Any ideas much appreciated.

Re: Buttons not working 2 top rows.
Are you in "design mode"? Try moving the buttons around and resizing. If you CAN move the buttons then I think you are in design mode...the macro buttons won't work. It's a couple of clicks to fix ( but I'm on my tablet at the moment so I can't advise but see link below).

Thanks for the idea but I'm not in design mode - the buttons won't move.

Re: Buttons not working 2 top rows.
This does sound like a Trust Centre problem to me. I have Excel 2016 and 2010 so I'm not sure about 2007, but my Trust Centre settings are:
Macro Settings: Disable all macros with notification
ActiveX setting: Prompt me before enabling all controls with minimum restrictions
This latter one is important..... the buttons are ActiveX controls
Hope this helps

Re: Buttons not working 2 top rows.
Thanks Kiloran,
I have been round and round the trust center and active X and Macros are all enabled. I still have a copy of V11-74 as well as the new v11-80 and both of them are showing the same problem. V11-74 worked before I downloaded the new copy after reinstalling the Win 10 Pro OS. Either it is something that MS have introduced on the latest incarnation of Win 10 or I have a faulty download.
It's a pain if I have to go through a full reinstall of the OS - it takes some time to get the computer back to my preferred layout so any ideas gratefully received. In the meantime I will transfer a copy of the HYPTUSS to an old laptop that doesn't receive these pesky updates and see how it works there.

Re: Buttons not working 2 top rows.
I'm stumped.
Googling for "ActiveX buttons do not work" shows a lot of similar problems, many of which refer to the deletion of *.exd files. Such as this:
https://www.mrexcel.com/board/threads/a ... ng.823352/
Another "solution" is to use the LibreOffice version of HYPTUSS.
Good luck!

It's definitely from a Windows Update for Office. I believe it's been narrowed down to the following file that needs to be removed:
MSForms.exd
And possibly this specific update that causes it: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2726958
Deleted the .exd file(s) appears to permanently fix the issue (until MS strikes again
Another "solution" is to use the LibreOffice version of HYPTUSS.
Good luck!

I would avoid reinstalling Windows, it's unlikely to help and is, as you say, a lot of work.
One thing to check, and I'm not quite sure how it looks on Excel 2007, is the display settings within Excel. If you have a 'Display Settings' showing on the bottom of the Excel window, click on it and make sure it says 'Optimize for Compatibility'. If you have a 'Zoom' setting, bottom right, make sure it is set to 100%.

Re: Buttons not working 2 top rows.
PS.
I have now copied both V11- 74 and V11-80 to the other laptop. The buttons don't work there either. I now see that this machine has been updated with the usual MS updates so I think this may be the culprit.
In summary:-
V11 - 74 was my original working HYPTUSS and V11- 80 is the newly downloaded one. As neither copy now work on 2 laptops AND they are both getting MS updates I begin to suspect this is the cause of the problem. However I am suspicious that no one else is reporting a problem.

Re: Buttons not working 2 top rows.
Just downloaded a NEW copy of V11-80 from this website.
I said ok ("Enable")to the two warnings on opening the file (enable content and enable editing)
All is working...shareprices updated and yields.

I'm on Win 10 & Excel 2010.
Perhaps suggest a new download and try again?

Re: Buttons not working 2 top rows.
Hi,
I have now had time to sort this one out. I was using Office 2007 and I decided to try an upgrade to a later version. Initially I trialled the latest I could find which was 2021 but I was a bit concerned with the @ operator appearing in front of formulae, I believe this is to do with the 365 on line version. I decided to try out 2016 and all works OK on that version. I guess there was a problem with my version of 2007 but an upgrade from that is probably long overdue.
Unfortunately this has produced another problem. I also have a transactions spreadsheet and I update the prices in that using Eventide's tlfaddin-rev1. The problem is that I can't get the macro to run. I've followed all the advice on the web and in the Trust Centre Macros are enabled. I also have unblocked the file in it's properties box. I note that on the macros tab the macro name is absent and the box is blank.
I am a fairly simple spreadsheet user - I can do the easy things like linking to cells and the usual mathematical calculations but after that I'm stuck. Any help on this much appreciated. Win 10 Pro 64 bit is the OS.

Re: Buttons not working 2 top rows.
Hi,
Eureka! I seem to have cracked that problem now. I went through all the info I could find on the web and found my add-ins folder and made sure everything was exactly correct on the developer add-ins folder. I then checked the formula in my prices column. That was the answer - somehow in all my messing around the wrong formula was saved in there. Corrected this to =getdata(XXX.L) and all is now good - the prices update.
Amazing what one can learn from the web when things don't work!
