TMF Financial Software Repository link

#359

Postby Itsallaguess » November 4th, 2016, 6:53 pm

Just wanted to post a link to the TMF Financial Software Repository -

http://tmffinancialsoftware.weebly.com/

Happy to discuss any issues with the HYPTUSS software here in our new forum.

Many thanks to both Stooz and Clariman for such sterling work with this new site.

Cheers,

Itsallaguess

Welcome... As asked on TMF. Kiloran is going to look at TMF formatter to see if he can come up with something that can format tables to be inserted here. Good luck, wish I could help but I am too old school now to learn bcode.

Hi Raptor

I had a quick look at table formatting.... see the test board http://lemonfool.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=51

You need to paste the data between code tags, but leave out the <pre> and </pre> tags. I'll update the code formatting tool to change pre to code when the dust has settled.

One significant problem is that there is no horizontal scrolling in the resultant code window, so the data wraps at around 120 characters (depending on your browser zoom level). It's not ideal and needs more research (and Stooz's time!) but I have found that the wrapping is only(!) a display issue..... if you copy everything in the code window and paste it into a text editor, it displays OK.

So, we are halfway to where we want to be. And at least we now have a test board where we can experiment with such things.

Worse than that - there is a vertical scroll bar! I've requested the [pre] [/pre] BBcode be enabled.

Yes, I see your problem, Bree. The [pre][/pre] option sounds interesting, but I'd be interested to see what it looks like. Remember in the bad old days(!) of TMF, we sometimes got a very wide post which when read in threaded mode made every single post seem 29ft wide on the screen? I wonder if the pre tags might have a similar effect on LemonFool since we are effectively in permanent threaded mode? I suspect we are between the devil and the deep blue sea.

Do you know of any existing phpBB forums where we might test this?

No, I'm afraid not. FWIW I have a localhost BBPress test forum (not that similar - uses html tags rather than BBCode). However, it that forum does have a set width for displaying posts. Using <pre></pre> tags lines wider than a post will wrap at the edge of the displayed post - there's no scroll bar. It means that a table can be no wider than a post. There's no restriction on number of rows though.

That's a bit of a bummer. I wonder if adding a *.txt attachment might be the best alternative for extreme cases? Assuming, of course, that attachments are possible.

Hi,

Is there a problem with the StepOne replacement? According to the version I just downloaded there aren't any shares with an incrementing dividend?

Thanks,

Drat! You are right, of course. I had to change the source of the dividend data for the last update, and clearly I didn't do enough checking.

Sorry, I'll look at it.

Right, I've fixed the problem, Grimer, and I've made a note to check it for the end november update.
Updated data at http://lemonfoolfinancialsoftware.weebl ... se350.html

Thanks for highlighting the problem
