Don't want it to be too easy to open the camera.

A hundred photos of the inside of my pocket lack interest. Maybe I should enter them for the Turner prize?

They'll change your life.

Was in the local bike shop when a cyclist came in wearing clip-in shoes. Of course, the first thing that happened was he went a-over-t on the polished floor.

My purchase changed from clip-in pedals to bolt-on toe clips* that you just slide your normal shoes into. The disadvantage is that they hang upside down when you take your foot out, but, after a few journeys, it becomes second nature to spin the pedal and meet the clip with your shoe as it comes over the top.

Not for purists, or speed junkies for whom milliseconds count when starting off, but they work for me.

Yes, I use them, they're great.

I'm with VRD. I don't want to wear footwear I can't walk in. It's many years since I did even for a very specific purpose, such as skis, skates or flippers. Trainers or adequately-robust sandals for cycling.

Not very funny.

It's June, so it'll be warm snow (every cloud etc......)

Plimsolls? What's wrong with sandals?

You sound like one of those softies who gets put off by a bit of weather.

Sorry, don't remember that. Before my time.

But I do have a faint recollection of an anniversary: the outcome of a referendum about our membership of the ... um ... civilised world.

I'd be kidding if I said I remembered them 76 years ago - I was a just over a month old.

But yes - I think of the ordinary men in the landing crafts who probably thought it was unlikely that they would survive the day - but onward they went for our future.

I well remember the US Invasion of England, in the prior years. Large US Army 6-wheel wagons, with the driver on the wrong side, who was therefore able to pass a small boy on a bicycle with inches to spare. Frightened me no end.

Got any gum, chum?

I like the angles on that. Looks very stealthy - like the early HAVE BLUE prototypes. Very small Radar signature I guess

Apart from the bicycle wheel. Which is a shiny reflector from any angle
Maybe it was added deliberately so he didn't get rammed by larger boats in the fog

It's a Radar decoy - passive countermeasures.

I topped up the wife's car this morning - same story, no refills since late February, and still a quarter of a tank left. Our entire experience of the outside world since mid-March has been a couple of doctor's surgery visits and a quick blast around the lanes to keep the cars moving. And exercise, of course.

I chose a nice quiet time at our village filling station, and I had the mask on and everything. Although I was the only person in sight who'd bothered. ;)
And dammit, then I forgot the gloves. That's one pump handle, two push doors and one credit card terminal that I had to clean the car for afterwards. Handbrake, steering wheel, gear lever, door grab handle. Good job I didn't touch the light switches. Oh damn, and then there's the indicator stalk, better wipe that as well. And the seatbelt buckle. And the filler cap. Help, I think I might be going OCD. :|

Carrying a bottle of hand-gel in the car (as we do) solves some (but not all) of those issues.

Scott.
