Well sure, I'm just tickled he's fastidiously armed himself with his pocket change every morning, not travelling more than 30 feet away, then depositing it at the bedside again at night.

That's outrageously casual. Deposited in the box on the hall table on coming into the house, surely.

Habit, dear boy, habit. Do you remember to put your trousers on every morning? Or take them off at night?

I have a stand for clothes, which includes a shelf for your loose change.

Memories. My Mum bought me a Corby when she was trying to train me up, it had a cash shelf as well. But do you keep coins in your pocket until bed, or is Chez Terry naturalist?

The change in my pocket is the change that was there in March, slightly depleted. I think I've only used cash once since lockdown - to pay for a haircut last week.
Barbers/taxi drivers etc appreciate cash, as it's tax-free....

They are removed at bed time and put back in the pocket on getting dressed.

I have a tobacco tin in my bedside drawer for notes and £1/£2 coins (I don't smoke), and all other bits of small change go into a money bottle under my bed, and that'll get emptied and bagged about once a year, and deposited into my bank account. Doing so usually garners around £75 on each visit, and I know the rough three-quarter-full level on the money bottle that will turn into that rough level of deposit. That once-a-year money-bottle visit is the only time I ever normally need to actually step foot in my bank..

Normally, I will only ever have notes or coins in my pockets when leaving the house, and not all the time even then. If I'm going on a trip where I'm not expecting to spend any money, then I won't take any with me, although I do always keep an emergency £20 note and some change in the glove compartment of my car.

If I've ever got any money in my pockets when I go back home, I will always remove it by habit, in the same way I take off my shoes, so for the vast majority of my life, I normally won't have cash or cards on me at all.

Cheers,

Itsallaguess

Where would you end up if you did one but not the other?

And the following morning, you're up to two pairs. And rising.

The reverse scenario might just boggle the mind.

Apropos of nothing, the last guillotine execution in France was in 1977, the same year that Star Wars came out. And the guillotine wasn't officially abolished until 4 years later.

Well I suppose it depends on the legality of your purpose in visiting the bank.

I see a young couple got married on the summit of Ben Rinnes. Can't be that extreme if you can do it in a wedding dress

Getting married atop Ben Nevis would be cool - there was an observatory up there with a spare room for hire, ideal for the reception...but sadly rubble
