Re: Names
There was a Professor Butter at Glasgow University and many years ago I was told he had a son, Roland, but never had it confirmed. A sandwich shop with that name subsequently opened in Glasgow, so I am guessing it was an urban myth. However, my GP used to be Dr P Steyn before he retired.. I newver knew his first name but couldn't help smiling everytime I saw his name at the Medical Centre.

A friend's brother in law had the surname Commander and he became a Royal Navy officer, and the inevitable happened; Commander Commander

Re: Names
I also worked with a chap whose given name was John Smith, the sniggers and knowing looks he received whenever he and his wife booked into a hotel were varied and many. When he and his wife had children his mother was always known as Granny Apples.

Re: Names
...and what about poor Michael Hunt?
I used to know a Hunt. His first name was not Isaac, but for some reason was often referred to as such. Always seemed a pleasant enough fellow, hardly warranting the nickname, but it must have seemed irresistible.

When my aged mother told me she'd just watched this on Netflix I nearly choked on my coffee:

It's not an obscure little film - it's got Robert Redford and Jane Fonda in it! Surely someone at the movie studio could have checked.
I suppose the Americans pronounce it differently.
