Which is why your first sentence is not quite correct... your mask is doing more good for more people if there's virus on the inside; whether or not it was your intent.
Win win! :)

Evidently you do not understand how my mask works.

Again!

ROTFL!

Do not be harsh on him. It was a good few months ago and he may not recall.

N99 masks are available valved and unvalved.
Are we to understand that yours involves the V word?

99 is 99.

Have you seen the paranoiac plampfs wearing both a valved mask and a non valved over it? :D

I know that some places look down on the valve but how worried would you have to be to have the worst of both?

Either way: virus on the inside helps more people irrespective of the type of mask - so back to your dominos I've got bread to make

Not the case here as already explained to you twice, but feel free to bring it up a third time.

Ok ta. .

I quoted this:
if your mask is doing any good at all then the front of it has virus on it

I say that's wrong for the reasons already put
;)
Don't worry if you don't understand it

That virus on the inside helps more people than it on the outside?
Too complicated I guess?

There is no "virus on the inside" so that makes no sense.

The mask I wear protects me from virus "on the outside", which is clearly a risk given the amount of ignorance and misunderstanding here. Why you wear a mask is quite another matter, about which I would not venture even a speculation.

Ok cool enjoy the dominos ;)

But if there's virus on the inside of any mask worn in public it has done more good for more people than if there was virus on the outside ;)

Hence it is wrong to say that it needs virus on the outside to have done any good

English she sure is funny

In my case there is no virus "on the inside" so your point is immaterial.

My point was more that if a mask collects no infectious matter on the outside then it would not have mattered if you had not worn it, from a self-protection perspective.

Could be Lootman's mask comes with its very own built-in scanning electron microscope? (The De Luxe version)

And after all, however you look at it, that's the only thing that matters, no? ;)

There may be things that might matter more to you, but I feel sure that you do not expect me to give a rat's rectum about them.

How do you find the tests?
I'm being tested weekly and either they're better at it or I've just got used to it - first one was an eye-opener though

Yes that covers the find in a location sense :)
Any comments on the experience?
I'd heard horror stories before my first so possibly was a bit tenser than would have helped
- but it's since become a lot more comfortable

For me it was nothing, but maybe some people hate having swabs being stuck up their nostrils.

Indeed, it seems to depend on how you're built

There's not been many real horror stories... but this one must have smarted :o

Interesting words in Die Zeit this week from everyone's favorite celebrity epidemiologist and poster boy for a light intervention approach:
AndersTegnell wrote:Striving for herd immunity is neither ethical nor otherwise justifiable.

There has been no infectious disease in history in which herd immunity has completely stopped the transmission without a vaccination beforehand. And that won't happen with COVID-19 either

Anyone still think we've reached herd immunity, there'll be no second wave, and we should just let the virus rip while "protecting the vulnerable"?

Scott.
