Three years at the top
It's almost exactly three years since Snorvey started his brilliant Pic of the Day thread. Over 1000 replies, many of them great pics or lighthearted banter inspired by the pics. All that time it's been deservedly the longest thread here.
I've just noticed it's been surpassed by the less-than-six-week-old upstart Coronavirus thread. How sad. I shall have to see if I can do my bit by finding another pic to post, but I fear it's now in vain.
Just one more casualty of the lurgy.

Ah, but each picture is worth a thousand words, so I'm sure the Pic of the Day thread is really the longest thread.
Anyway, quality beats quantity

How sad.
How sad?
A few days after Snorvey took a picture of his own аrse on top of Ben Rinnes, Boris Johnson instructed the whole of the UK to stop leaving our homes...

There's more going on here than we'll ever know....
Cheers,
Itsallaguess (only kidding Snorvey - it's one of my favourite threads, as many of the great contributors will hopefully know by now...)

Re: Three years at the top
That was six weeks of covid. Now it's six months, and the covid thread is more than twice the size of the pics and definitely generating more heat than light (even if the latter is not entirely extinguished)
On a personal level, at least something good has come of it, as I've been inspired to post pics a few times. Ho, hum ...

mea culpa on the covid front. So I'll add a few photos from Mull to balance my sins

Re: Three years at the top
It's just occurred to me, with the creation of the separate covid board and the thread gone from here, Snorvey's pics thread has regained its top position in the snug.
Anyone remember when that reogranisation happened - and hence how long the pics were off the top spot?

Re: Three years at the top
The announcement on the Covid board is dated 16th March 2020. So I would expect the boards date from about the same time.
But "Top Thread" is only a measure of the latest post, not quality or quantity. It only takes one inane post, like this one, to push a thread to the top - for a short while at least.

If you read back to the beginning of this thread (not a long way to go), you'll see that's not the relevant definition of top spot.
Anyway, taking that as ballpark, it was an eleven month interruption - April 20 to March 16, both being approximate.

Re: Three years at the top
The pics thread seems to have hibernated in Snorvey's absence. Anyone feel inspired by his very welcome return to revive it? I would if I had anything I thought suitable sitting around.
