It would be better if people stopped speaking in euphemisms and enunciate in English , clearly specifying any information in a communication.

The original post would then state ," The meeting next Wednesday has been re-scheduled for two days earlier/later."

Obsfucation and verbosity are used far too often ,with the result that confusion reigns supreme.

'Next Wednesday' is a week on Wednesday.

The one in two days time is 'This Wednesday'.

Have you got a meeting that you need to attend?

Cheers,

I agree, but at what point does next wednesday become this wednesday? Midnight saturday, perhaps? (does that mean midnight at the start of saturday or midnight at the end of saturday?)

My brain hurts. And I missed last wednesday's meeting. I got the wrong timezone

No - next Wednesday becomes this Wednesday on Thursday and a fortnight on Wednesday will then be next Wednesday.

Hope this helps...

Cheers,

If you moved the meeting forward two days, when would it be? (My image.)

If you move the meeting forward quickly enough, does it seem shorter?

Where's the Snakes and Ladders? They could come in handy in deciding which day the Wednesday meeting was re-arranged to. Either a Snake down to Monday, or a Ladder up to Friday. Or alternatively add a collection of Snakes and Ladders just to keep everybody guessing as before. And the team that's supposed to be at the meeting could indulge in a competitive game - and so build team morale. Then there would be no need for a meeting.:)

I propose formation of a subcommittee to look into how to resolve these important matters.

I further propose in convene on the first Tuesday of every month, or possibly the Thursday...

Possibly with an annual review at the back of 3 every Easter?

Very good that. Reflects the lived experience. Some days are just longer than others.

You can have one of each.
