Re: Saturday 9th January 2021 Poll - Weekly Main Shop
I don't drive so a weekly shop isn't possible. My nearest big supermarket is Sainsbury's so I'm up there every two or three days (helps with the mileage targets as well: I try to walk a minimum 2 miles a day on average)
We do have a small Co-Op in the village, which is noticeably more expensive- but handy for bread/milk/emergency booze. The staff are nice too.

Re: Saturday 9th January 2021 Poll - Weekly Main Shop
If I want to go somewhere-else for a change and still get most of what I want, I go to Tesco.
If I am feeling bored and want a good laugh at what other people are wearing, I go to Asda.
If I want to get everything I want from the same place, I go to Sainsbury.
If I want to drive for an hour to get to the nearest one, I go to Waitrose.
If I want to buy half of what I want, I go to Morrison's.
If I have just won the lottery, I go to Marks and Spencer.
If I want to buy mainly bakery goods and meat and not much else except things I have never heard of before, I go to Lidl.
If I want to get 90% of what I want at a good price, plus a set of dumbbells and a fire extinguisher, I go to Aldi.
If I want something quick to eat and don't mind looking around the whole shop without seeing anything I fancy, I go to the Co-op.

What you need is a backpack. As I used to say as far back as the 1980s (when I was first responsible for my own weekly shop) that £10-worth of groceries in carrier bags was hard work, but £50 in a backpack was easy. With the big pack I've topped a £100 shop at Tesco (though not, I think, since turning 50 with its enfeeblement).
The supermarket shop is part of my regular mileage too. In fine weather I'll cross a bit of Dartmoor to get there, though I'll go a shorter and flatter route home with laden backpack

Re: Saturday 9th January 2021 Poll - Weekly Main Shop
We don't do a main shop but as I've mentioned before we use two local shops, a farm shop and a greengrocers. The farm shop has expanded their range dramatically since lockdown with the owner going the extra mile if customers want a particular comestible (don't you just love that word) then he'll go out of his way to source it. When flour was in short supply he drove to a mill in Newtown Powys to stock up. He also sells what can be termed as basic veg - potatoes, carrots etc. though he also has plenty of mushrooms! At the greengrocer you can request any exotic veg you require and if it's available when he goes to market (3 times a week) then Steve will get it.

I sort of half do that - I've got a small rucksack into which goes my Sainsbury's bag and cool bag/freezer blocks*
Then the heavier stuff (wine, beer, jars of pasta sauce..) goes in the pack for the trip back, and the chilled stuff goes in the cool bag inside the Sainsburys bag for life.

*probably not necessary at the moment as outside is colder than my fridge

My main shop is Bookers, the local cash and carry. We are catering for six adults at the moment, I am buying 4 dozen eggs a week...and three of us are vegan!

That's a big claim.
But regardless of the inherent interest (on which I remain agnostic), your brevity disqualifies you from that title.

I will try harder next time. Perhaps details of my CD collection shelving order
(alphabetical, left to right. Ignore definite articles. Compilations at the end of each artist section regardless of chronology etc etc)

I don't think I've ever bought an egg in my 55 years on the planet. Ghastly things.

You may have never bought or eaten one, but you have been one.

True enough!
I do actually eat them as an ingredient - it's just poached/boiled/fried/scrambled eggs that freak me out. The smell of a boiled egg makes me feel sick

I rather fear it's the ones in ingredients - for example, that shop-bought cake - that are the very worst of battery abuse.
Eggs you buy unprocessed are much more likely to be slightly-less-abusive "free range".

It's not moral qualms - I just think eggs stink like death in their 'natural state'
My idea of Hell - stuck on the tube next to someone devouring an egg mayo sandwich

Covid-19: Fordingbridge farm chickens risk cull over egg demand
Fluffetts Farm near Fordingbridge had been supplying free range eggs to 350 Hampshire schools, but orders stopped when schools suddenly closed.
Sorry it's a little off topic but I couldn't help feel some sympathy for this company.

A pack horse or a mule would be needed for mine. My weekly shop is too much for the boot of the wife's car.

Tut, tut, and you don't even cross-reference them by genre?
It's a good job you're not a jazz nut. Those guys are always jumping in and out of each other's sets. Total promiscuous mayhem in the shelving department. It really shouldn't be allowed.

Jazz? I won't have it in the house...
I finally went to bed last night worrying about where I'd shelve albums by "The The" and "? and the Mysterians"

Well, last night I was listening to John Coltrane's classic recording of My Favourite Things. Screaming anarchic post-bebop sax meets Julie Andrews. You'd have loved it. Okay, maybe not.
Which reminds me. Lidl are fresh out of baked apple strudel, and their schnitzel with noodles is stuck in a lorry queue in Rotterdam. Hard times.
