St Ives has a police station on Pig Lane. Or rather, it did until an embarrassed council renamed that section of the road as Broad Leas. It beats me why they couldn't have settled for Letsby Avenue.

When Melton Mowbray Borough council built splendid new offices on derelict land by the railway station and paved an adjacent access road, they has the common-sense to retain its locally-known name of Mucky Lane.
And Exton - the picturesque ancestral village of the Gainsboroughs near Oakham - has a Pudding Bag Lane: correctly so named because it is a cul-de-sac (but Exton naturally has no truck with such Frogine terms)
