Bad day for IAG there as Portugal flounder against the mighty Belgians.

The quarter finals are already looking interesting .

Portugal were poor, with Jota wasteful in front of goal, and what a crazy hand-ball from de Ligt...

Belgium were not at their best either, mind, and you've got to wonder how costly the two injuries to De Bruyne and Hazard are going to be for them...

Looking forward to Croatia vs Spain at 5pm..

I think De Ligt more fell onto the ball and it was instinctive to put his hand out
Yes the 5pm game will be interesting, Spain can pass you to death but have nothing (ie Morata) up front
and Modric can win the game for Croatia with a "bit of magic"

Well what a feast that was last night, with two matches that had more twists and turns than a very, very twisty-turny thing...

Let's hope tonight's 5pm game can match even part of that sumptuous entertainment, and my one hope is that England are able to capitalise on playing at Wembley in front of a nearly-doubled crowd of 40,000 fans, almost all of which will be cheering on the home side...

It's been a bit of a crazy tournament up to now, with some really surprising results, so let's hope Gareth can get the lads fired up for this one...

He has mostly, but we've got some good pace with Sterling and Saka, and I can't remember the last time I saw such a strong England bench..

Happy to be wrong! I think that was a deserved win and Sterling has grown in stature as well as Pickford who was superb.

50 years of disappointment make me a very cautious optimist. If this result inspires the team and belief sets in, they could go all the way.
