Just when you thought it safe to go out
Double vaxxed - no doubt with booster in the autumn - I thought it's about time to book a couple of shows for later in the year. Then I saw it - Riverdance on a 119 event UK tour starting late August through to Xmas. Begorrah - lock the front door - throw away the key - where is Brexit and the Northern Ireland protocol when serious stuff happens?

. . and now ABBA - surely there is some Brexit regulation stopping Swedish imports or some supply chain problems - maybe stop Swedish lorries at Dover?

I'm not sure about the point of going out to see Abba, when what you'll get is a digital simulacrum of what the Dancing Queens would have looked like fifty years ago, instead of what they actually look like now (i.e. fit, healthy 70 year olds). It all seems a bit creepy to me, frankly. Especially when super-wrinkly Mick Jagger can still jump and cavort around on the stage at 78, and still look good doing it.
As for stopping them at Dover, I personally wouldn't let them get past Waterloo.

I was all for it!
I was thinking it was a great idea!
What could help the world more that "the return of ABBA"!
Shining beacons of camp unity!
Then I listened to the songs...
And I remembered I didn't really enjoy Chess
Oh dear

Re: Just when you thought it safe to go out
I actually like ABBA in a totally un-ironic way
Apart from Dancing Queen, which has been done to death
OK some of the 70s EuroDisco productions were a bit cheesy, but Polar Studios (later albums) had a great sound and ABBA had the songs

Me too! I LOVE ABBA
I'll be there in my platform shoes, figure hugging shiny latex bolero, skin tight flares and afro

I'm slightly surprised that poster sized photos of simsqu in figure hugging latex were ever available commercially. Was he carrying a tennis ball?
