And why shouldn't he? In an age when you can identify as your choice of sex, why not also your choice of age?

You'll recollect, at the start of covid, I decided to identify as a young woman. So that if I got the lurgy I'd not be in danger from it. It worked: I'm still here 8-)

I note that the headline says "Bezos...to send William Shatner into space"

I wonder if anyone has told Mr Shatner?

Or will they just throw him over some random garden gate, take picture of a rocket and claim that they delivered?

As with the previous flight, the October voyage is expected to last about 10 minutes and will take the crew just beyond the Karman Line - the most widely recognised boundary of space which lies 100km (60 miles) above the Earth.

100km is 'in space' ?? On a globe of the world, you're barely above your fingerprints!

Sir Richard told The Sun newspaper at the time it was because Shatner has a fear of flying. But in 2011 the actor said he had turned down the offer because the billionaire allegedly wanted him to pay for the journey.

Today's 'New Shepherd' mission is due to lift off some time this afternoon and can be watched live using the following link -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uEhdlIor-do

It's currently due to lift off around 3pm BST, but there's a live clock update on the above YouTube stream which will hopefully confirm that a little nearer the time.

Cheers,

Yeah? But then, when you think about it, we have been "in space" all of our lives...

"We're gonna need a bigger spaceship."
