Other old films I like re-watching are: I Robot (2004), The Fugitive (1993), and A Few Good Men (1992).

I watched 'Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid' recently, having never seen it before. Great film and some Bob Dylan too.

Big Mommas House 2 (2006), the best of the trilogy imo. Don't let the title put you off, worth a watch.

It's a bit hard to not see a good film. Obviously you have to deem it a good film first but then why would you intentionally miss it. Maybe you might wait until the cinema round has finished or its cheap on disc or streaming.

It was only recently I watched 2001 A Space Odyssey after reading a review of the UHD. All the comments raved about said film which is quite old now.

I can't remember why I didn't see it at the time or anywhere in between. Work or busy life. I suspect I have more time and interest now. Maybe it's dated a bit by modern standards and liking a film is quite personal.

I haven't seen the Exorcist either although horror is not really my thing. I also have Titanic to watch as I have never seen it from beginning to end. I have watched lots of it in bits over the years. Hopefully I will get into it from the beginning instead of bits.

I suppose its also how much hype and expectation you put on a film makes a difference. If you are not expecting much and it surpassed expectations you are likely on to a winner.

Yes the films you had no plans to watch can sometimes turn out to be the best ones. I remember being at a loose end over last Christmas and happened to start watching Dunkirk (on BBC iirc) with my son. We had missed the first 15 mins or so but were completely mesmerised by it. Very little dialogue, the flying scenes were especially good.

I'd never heard of it, but in the light of such an enthusiastic recommendation I watched it at the weekend.

I thought it was a beautiful and brilliant film, though I was slightly puzzled as to how she managed [SPOILER ALERT] ...

... to persuade the helicopter pilot to fly her out. One would have thought that with such a powerful boss as Nathan the pilot would have insisted on obtaining his authority to do so.
