And I know there are a few out there and one very knowledgeable poster but coming soon...

Also, I just happened to be listening on Radio 5 live on the 11th of this month and was awarded with a fabulous trip down memory lane. Do a search on BBC sounds and put in Dotun Adebayo. Each Wednesday he has a program whereby he asks viewers to select their best songs(Virtual Juke Box). Well Dotun is away this week and Johnny L'Anson has taken over and decided to do about 3 hours just on the Beatles. Not to be missed!! People also phone in and discuss their personal meetings with them in the very early years plus those that lived on the same street, to throwing a bucket of water on them as they were making too much noise. Really great stuff and pleased to say that the number one song chosen(I mean how can you?) was in my top three. Regardless, lots of stuff therein I hadn't known before. If you manage to listen to this, let me know your thoughts.
Self confirmed Beatles admirer and believes they have no equal and never will(not in my life time anyway).

Re: Beatles Fans
Forgot also to add the unheard of song recently found by George and Ringo from 1968. If I didn't know who it was I certainly would, just after a few bars from listening to George.

Re: Beatles Fans
Thanks for the heads up. I'll check it out when I get back home in a couple of days. You can't have too much Beatles.
For any really serious fans, check out this forum, where a chap called Lord Reith (and others) do wonderful things, using AI software to strip out the multitracks, creating new mixes etc. His BBC Radio Archive set is a joyful thing to behold.

That looks like a link to a TLF forum, there are a lot of posts there, is there particular one you would recommend?

As an amateur musician myself (with the emphasis on amateur) I am always amazed at how they were able to produce such memorable melodies. So many are recognisable after just a few notes. Of course there are other groups with attractive melodies, but very few come close to the Beatles in that you can easily pick out the tune with one finger on a piano and everyone knows it.
Steve
PS As a student, I lived close to the top end of Penny Lane in Liverpool for about 4 months. This was in 1983, soon after the riots, when Liverpool was not a very nice place.

What always amazes me about them is that there was only four years between the release of "Love Me Do" and "Tomorrow Never Knows"

Penny Lane is in one of the posher parts of Liverpool, reflecting the fairly sedate and comfortable upbringing that Paul had in nearly Allerton. George grew up close to there in Wavertree, where John started out but then moved to not so far away Woolton.
The riots were a couple of miles west of there, in what Liverpudlians call Liverpool 8, and non-Liverpudlians call Toxteth. Ringo grew up in adjacent Dingle, and can reasonably be regarded as the only Beatle who grew up in a "not very nice" part of Liverpool. Paradoxically that area is now becoming fashionable as the achingly hip Baltic Triangle neighbourhood.

Thx for that. Just seen the one at the Cavern Club. Truly, truly amazing. Those lucky people and he played for free. What a show he put on and his band were fantastic.

Yes it was brilliant
and here's the link for anyone who missed it

I also enjoyed the one that preceded it, I do like the clips where he reminisces and talks about some of his songs
