Do we need a referendum on Independence?
We seem to have a decent set of candidates for our first Government. Certainly, Chancellor of the Exchequer would be very hotly contested; strength in depth there.
Here’s a list of the positions on offer https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_g ... ed_Kingdom. Mind, we needn’t follow that model slavishly. Nor the party system, which really does seem very broken. Perhaps we should debate the structure first.

Referenda are a poor way of deciding public policy. Benevolent despotism is the way to go.

Amusing, although not intentionally so, I think? I got as far as:
I also liked the way the author skids around the admitted fact that you must be sure to have no wars, and nobody violating the laws.

The internet, for example, has made place less important, so national borders seem increasingly arbitrary. And cryptocurrencies like bitcoin have proven that if enough people believe in the value of an idea you can create something worth trillions of dollars........

With rockstar leaders to blaze their path and negotiate on the international stage, these new states would slowly but surely obtain rights and recognition, eventually breaking off from their home countries once and for all.
