The name was allegedly put on the plans as a joke after a designer noticed the police HQ was going to be there, and nobody noticed/objected so it went through.
In Plymouth a now retired planner called Dave Sendall wrote "Sendall's Way" on the plan for an estate access road, and it just kept the name. We tried to sneak a few in on the Cranbrook and Sherford developments in Devon but were spotted.
