I found this article about Woodside (WDS) It might be of interest to BHP shareholders who have kept their WDS shares.

I know Woodside very well. Not mentioned in the article above - But they also have a stake in Wheatstone LNG, another Australian LNG plant operated by Chevron. They are a decent enough outfit. But in all honesty, I wouldn't want to hold shares in them in preference to one of the super majors. If I held, I would be looking to sell Woodside and reinvest in a supermajor.

Holding so far. Anyone know if it will have a dividend yield in UK and ,if so, pay quarterly or twice a year?

Based on https://www.dividendmax.com/australia/a ... /dividends

I'm reckoning on ~6% and twice per year.

Sell them, they are probably at a high now.Great company to work for ( been there twice 1980s+ 90s).I missed my chance to buy in 1997 I think.Finished up on an FPSO project, the price nearly halved I think, and I thought about buying some at $6 or $7.I didn't.

A crusty old engineer that us " my boys" as he called us 40 years ago worked with loved them. He'd been with them since they were Lakes entrance oil in the 1950s and he'd been buying shares in the employee share plan forever. They started at 6d ( 3 cents)a share when he bought 1,000 with a bonus.
His retirement was all planned, even down to the colour of his Rolls Royce.Don't know if he bought a roller but his retirement would have been good.A nice old guy on the cruel to be kind basis.

Think for yourself though. The head honcho is a really good bloke ( Richard Goyder),his time was up at Wesfarmers after 10 or 12 years and Woodside grabbed him.

Currently about 32 Aus dollars. They have been twice this price (2008). They've been at a higher price than today in the entire period from 2006 to Dec 2019. But that's just price anchoring... I don't understand how the story justifies a sell decision ?

The share price graph pretty much equals that of Shell (slightly better) so it is really a question of do you want to be in oils or not.
I think I would prefer Woodside marginally as it is probably less of a political football.
