I should perhaps just add that if, as appears to me to be the case, the moderators of the HYP-P board are showing a little more tolerance in the discussion there of late, I welcome it.

Perhaps the reason is that the trolls are hiding under a different bridge.

I wrote "HY" not HYP. There's a difference - IC and other financial columns were for a while full of HY investing. I probably noticed particularly because I had on the other side of the world for a long holiday and spotted the difference in mood.

My recollection is that Academic Investor in the IC was an advocate of investing in higher yeielding shares. I am thinking of back in the 1970s, when I read the magazine for some time.
