JPMorgan Global Growth & Income (JGG) dividend announcement -
The Board is pleased to announce that it intends to pay dividends totalling 18.44 pence per share (4.61 pence per share per quarter) in relation to its financial year commencing 1st July 2023.
This is equivalent to 4.0% of the Company's net asset value as at 30 June 2023 and represents an increase of 8.5% on the last financial year's total dividend of 17.00 pence per share. This will be the 8th consecutive year that the dividend has been raised.
It is expected that the dividends will be paid by way of four equal distributions, with the first interim dividend for the financial year ending 30th June 2024 of 4.61 pence per share (for the period to 30th September 2023), being paid on 6th October 2023 to shareholders on the register at the close of business on 1st September 2023. The ex-dividend date is 31st August 2023.
The three other dividends are expected to be paid in January, April and July.

With this announcement of next years dividend of 18.44p, and set against a current share price for JGGI of 470p, that gives a forward-yield of around 3.9% at the current time, and I'm a happy holder of this globally diverse income-generator -

There's no doubt JGGI is a rather class act. Dividend due later this week.

The dividend policy is based on 4% NAV.
Other JP Morgan ITs are also based on a similar/same policy. They are cutters, eg
JAGI JPMorgan Asia Growth & Income
JCGI JPMorgan China Growth & Income
JSGI JPMorgan Japan Small Cap Growth & Income
Just a thing to be considered if a consistent or increasing divi from an Investment Trust is an objective.

On the whole I am not keen on ITs basing their dividend on a percentage of NAV because often enough that can mean paying it out if capital which is definitely not the point of a dividend but JGGI seems to more or less cover the dividend from revenue. It just puts a floor under it.

i
I tend to agree. But UK investors are obsessed with dividends even if that is nothing more than a taxable return of their own capital.
And at least in the case of JGGI it cam avoid the folly of investing only in HY shares.
