Arbit, HYP and OEICs 2024 Q1

I went to post my usual here showing income for Q1 as a chart.

However, imgur.com has completely changed the way it works and I've drawn a blank - not quite literally! - but I cannot find how to copy the chart to here.

Why they mess about with these things, I don't know, but they should make it a bit more transparent for dummies.

I'll leave this post here for a while, hoping for some help.

imgur.com. "new post". Copy/find image. Right click on image and "Copy image address"

My pic of my weekend ride :)

I confess, whilst it was easy on a PC (same way it has always worked) I tried on a pad and I couldn't get the direct jpg address on that.

But in my case, all I get is a lnik rather than an image.

I see "copy image link" not "copy image address"

Not sure how I did it, but this might work!:

One can see RPI has flattened off a little, while the other curves seem to be converging on to the IT line.
OEICs have taken a knock, whereas the HYP is struggling towards the light - but disappointingly, not enough.

Curious. I still get "Copy image address" as an option if I right-click the image. (Apple lappy.)

I'd have thought "Copy image link" was the same thing actually. Maybe it's a Windows thing rather than an IMGUR thing.

Yes, maybe.

I shall probably post the capital change chart before long, so I will be playing around some more.
Thanks for the input, anyhow.

Eyeballing the chart, the IT's have been akin to a cruise ship, the other options more like bobbing around in a dinghy.
I am trying to move towards ITs, but I keep getting tempted by other options...

Somewhat reassuring that the vanilla income ITs do pretty much what they promise. Not too much stuff out there that does so :?

Yes, all because they retain some dividends for the purposes of smoothing in exchange for a slightly lower yield - but it does make personal budgeting easier when living on the proceeds. I had assumed that my dinghyp would bounce back while ITs had to rebuild their reserves, but I'm not confident of that any more.

ITs are at good discounts currently, so probably now is the right time to buy.

That's a nice analogy.

So why not build a PHY instead? ;) Exactly the same goals and mindset, just a different implementation.

I think everyone here is smart enough to work out for themselves what one of these is by now. (Just don't put any ordinary shares in it, you might get stamped on.)

... and for those who give up, it's a Portfolio of High Yield, of course. The premise is simple: buy a diverse portfolio of 15+ high yield ITs for income, and hold. Do not be tempted to meddle, and ignore fluctuations in capital value that will inevitably occur.

Thanks for that illumination. Was in a hurry yesterday to go sailing.
Won’t obviously dare to call my portfolio a HYP or a PHY, it’s just a P, as it’s containing ETFs, several ITs and a few large FTSE 100 companies. Needs less and less monitoring. Sometimes wish Gengulphus was still around these parts.
