Irish withholding tax on DCC dividends

#497237

Postby zachxx » April 28th, 2022, 2:11 pm

As a UK investor (i.e. not Irish resident) my understanding is that dividends from DCC should be paid without deduction of tax.
However I have just received my annual statement from Charles Stanley and it shows that tax has been deducted.

Are there any other UK-based investors of DCC here who can clarify if I am correct or not please?
And if so, did you have to fill out any forms (such as V2) or did your broker do it for you?

Or do you enter the Irish tax paid somewhere on your UK self-assessment form and let HMRC apply it against any other tax due?

Thanks.
