Is "trading" the right word for this site? Most contributors follow variations of buy and hold strategies. As such low or zero custody charges are more important than commissions on buying or selling.

Very few if any traders here. Agree investors largely decide a strategy and buy and hold.

I opened a Stocks and Shares account with IWEB around 3 years ago , the joining fee at that time was £25 . I believe at present the fee is now free till June next year, so I have got my wife to open an account . I transferred my share certificates into the account mainly to eventually avoid the dividend tax even though it would not have been much , I just hate the idea of giving away money when I do not need to . A charge of £5 to buy / sell suits me . From the comic I used to read years ago --- IVOR LOT and TONY BROKE I `m Tony , unlike most on here I would guess .
