We're staying a few days at the Hanger Lane Premier Inn, mainly because it's relatively cheap with good access to the Tube.

But is there anything interesting in the area that's worth going to? Pubs, restaurants, parks, attractions etc.

Sad to say, nothing whatsoever unless you’re a fan of roundabouts or diesel fumes.

The best thing about Hangar Lane is that you can easily get away from it via road or rail!

Go and see the Hindu Mandir at Neasden. Amazing marble temple.

Thin pickings. But it's less than a mile to Ealing Broadway and West Acton. A friend of mine who has a Japanese wife swears by YoYo Kitchen and MoMo Restaurant, by West Acton and North Ealing tube stations respectively.

The Wheatsheaf (Fullers) and the Greystoke (Greene King) are decent neighbourhood pubs in the same general area as above.

Ace Cafe on the North Circular. Iconic cafe for any sort of petrolheads. Lots of events....

I lived in Ealing for 7 years, in fact the Wheatsheaf was my local.
I think I went to Hanger Lane once- that was enough. Nothing to see there unless you like traffic..
Ealing was a lively p!ace with lots of shops, bars and restaurants
Not sure if the film studios do tours, but the pub nearby (Red Lion) was pretty good.

It still is. I thought about mentioning the Red Lion, another Fuller's pub, as I really like it but it's half way down towards South Ealing and so not really walkable from Hangar Lane.

If you've not seen it, it's worth a drive past the old Hoover building, which is now a Tesco but the frontage is preserved and it's art deco.

Many years ago, when I was very young, I remember hearing my mum telling her mate that she had stalled the car on the Hanger Lane Gyratory System and then had flooded the engine. And I can still remember my mental picture of my mum up to her ankles in water (because I didn't know what "flooded the engine" meant) and I've always been wary of the HLGS since!
