Postby terminal7 » January 20th, 2023, 11:01 am

Took an Uber yesterday. OH had minor op so booked Uber green. On App noticed Uber arriving in secs. OH and I stepped out of front door of clinic - no Uber in sight - just a flash Tesla parked there - must be rich patient etc . . . Driver rolls window down - Mr T7? - first drive in an Tesla - Uber drivers now with Teslas - how does that work?

At a guess Uber lease them by the boat load at a very advantageous rate. Then the driver pays a proportion of each fare to cover the lease cost at Uber.

We booked a regular taxi in Marseille. Large Tesla turned up.

Rent a Tesla for $334/week¹

Great news! Now you can rent a 2021 or 2022 Tesla from Hertz to drive with Uber. Teslas qualify for the Zero Emissions incentive and allow you to earn more through Uber Comfort trips.

Clearly I was at the back with the OH. Not sure that the driver was that experienced with the car.

Over a 12 min journey, I felt nauseous partially as a result of the bumpiness and the sudden accelerations to jump lights. If I hadn't been with the OH after a minor op, I would have got out before the destination and walked the rest of the route.

terminal 7,

Thanks for the reply. I also felt nauseous when riding in an Uber Tesla because of the accelerations, so I'm relieved to know this wasn't just me.

The regenerative braking often doesn't help either
