Week 8
At home to the best team in the league with 100% record so far. Having lost the away fixture last week, I was hoping this would be more even. I won MF 67% and averaged attack vs defence of 58% while they won attack 65%. Also their stamina was weaker so ratings moved in my favour as it progressed. I won 6-1, which was way better than I could have imagined. I am still third in IV.44, but am really chuffed with this result. Still aiming for second.

Bit up of a catch up post for me, as w*rk got in the way.

Div IV

Still top of the league, 3 points clear. The crunch game against 2nd place comes in week 12, so time to prepare.

Also still in the secondary cup, by the skin of my teeth. Playing the 1st team in the league, and reserves in the cup. I should have been knocked out last week - I went 550 long shot, not a tactic my team is particularly skilled in.
Made worst by the fact that I forget to set the tactic and we ended up playing 550 Normal....
However the lads parked the bus, and it went to extra time - where one of my guys scored a SE goal. Phew!

In the last 16 now, and taking it slightly more seriously - which means I'll lose this week.

Div V

A string of wins against poor opposition has promoted me to 4th spot.
Still a training season, and I'd rather drop a couple of points and get a play off game (last season I also ended up 4th). I'm sure I'll find a way to screw up.

Best of luck all!

Away to #2....we almost kept the score down, it was 1-1 half time but eventually lost 4-1.
We are in 6th, and next week at home to #1. Meh.

Home to 4th. Won 3-1 on a PIC. Up to second now as my main rivals dropped points. Playing them away next week.

We are in 6th, and next week at home to #1. Meh.

What was I worried about, we thumped them 4-1. Less meh, more hehe....

That takes us to 5th, still 5 pts short of 4th but maybe a sliver of a chance to catch them. 5 pts clear of relegation too, which I think is where I should be paying more attention....

Next week away to 3rd, we have yet to draw a game and they are draw specialists, although they beat us 0-2 last time round. Time for thinking caps again.

I was away to then third, my closest competitor. I put out my strongest team on a PIN, thinking it would be quite evenly matched. I reckon they MOTSed, because their midfield was 13 cf expected 11, meaning I only had 30% of midfield. It was close, though, and they only scored their 2-1 winner in the dying minutes.

Remaining matches are against 5(h), 6(a), 7(h) and 8 who are ownerless (a) and I would hope to win them all. I'm in third now on GD and will need 1 to beat 2 away for me to get second, I reckon.

My wages are getting too high (£280K). I can lose about £12K with planned sales and retirements, but I also need a new keeper who will need that kind of salary.
