Looks like it's on the Freighliner depot to the west of the current stadium, but part of a wider redevelopment of the area being led by Seb Coe. I do worry about their plans to collect rainwater from the roof - how will they possibly get enough that way? <g>
Perhaps the most stunning bit of that article is the list of biggest stadiums at the end, dominated by US universities - just another world.

One thing you can guarantee… it will end up costing more than £2bn, just ask Daniel Levy.

That cited stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama holds 100,000. The total population of Tuscaloosa is about 112,000

Re: Biggest stadium in the Championship
College football is massive. NFL does Thurs/Sunday/Monday, and leaves Saturday for college football - it's that big. My football mad son went on an organised 10 day tour (8 games across NFL and college) in the NE a couple of years ago and he said best/biggest game for scale and atmosphere was a college game with more than 100k crowd.
College basketball I think is equally big - is it March Madness going on right now?

St James Park I think is the record holder, albeit Sunderland will hold that title currently.

https://www.theguardian.com/football/20 ... r%20United.
"The United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe said: “I think a really good example is the Eiffel Tower. Everyone around the world knows the Eiffel Tower: you go to Paris, you stay in Paris, you spend money. We have 1 billion people around the world who follow Manchester United. I think everybody in the world who’s interested in football will want to visit Old Trafford.”
1 in 8 people in the World follow Man U?
I guess if 'follow' means looking at who beat them this week, then ..
My wife isn't one of them.... She asked me a year or so ago...what's the "FACUP" ( one word)... I bet quite a few Man U fans are asking a similar question!
