They weren't playing each other but the unusual combination happened.

East Fife scored 5 and Forfar scored 4.

I've been waiting more years than I care to remember for a 5-4 scoreline between those two teams

I think I first saw the possibility on Jim'll Fix It, must have been the 70s, where a young lad wanted to read out the classifieds.

From memory (so possibly wrong) I think he was Nottingham Forrest fan and they had a ridiculous scoreline of them winning with >10 goals as one of them. Another was the East Fife 4 : 5 Forfar.

As you say we have been waiting a long time, and they aren't always in the same division, but I hope it happens in my lifetime just to tick that "little amuse" box.
