A strange season, but sometimes things aren't as surprising. It seems it's business as usual for managerial casualties.

They seem to be expensive scapegoats for when the footballers keep losing matches.

I would sack Arteta for fielding a weakened team in the only competition [expletive deleted] stood a chance of winning!

Lampard was doing well when he had to "make do" with the players he had available. He blooded young players seamlessly into the squad and played some great football.

Fast forward to when he had a vast amount of cash to spend, so he does and his costly superstars can't perform up to expectations.

Did he recruit a bunch of moaning prim donnas?

I'm only speculating of course, but he may do well with a club without, vast funds available and an oligarch owner.

Leo, Lampard did not spend the money made available to him in the summer but someone else did, common these days for that to happen apparently.

Seems daft to me employing a manager to just coach other peoples signings, just appoint a good manager, stick with him for the medium term and given a fair wind with injuries and the like judge him then.

Thanks for that Stan. Yes I agree. That must have made it very difficult for him. Trying to mesh players foisted on him.

I think it just goes to show that some foreign investors don't understand how football management works in this Country.
