Sacked after a run of 11 winless games.
Well, the decline really started after the World Cup layoff.
The team while quite tough to beat (usually) have been inept when on the attack. I could go into many percieved reasons, wrong tactics, poor investment, no replacement for Gallagher who fit so well into the team. Could be any or all those things.
I take no pleasure in his dismissal. A likable and decent man, who tried his best but ultimately, I think, ran out of ideas. Also maybe he didn't have that ruthless streak that seems to be required to make it at the highest level.
A shame because most fans were full of optimism when he arrived, including me.
