England favourites to win but Australia have made a good start today and now look in with a chance.
Why on earth hasn't Mark Wood been given a spell? The wicket's not helping the seamers much at all but Wood has real pace and is always in with a chance.

Re: 5th Test
Smith (39) gloves to Stokes but catch ruled out because England skipper drops ball during celebration

watch the clip
hardly a celebration
IMHO
He was winding up for the typical celebratory throw into the air, his hand clipped his thigh and it came out of his hand.
As captain, if one of his team mates did that, he'd boot their *rse.
....AND he mucked up the regulation resignatory flob by letting it dribble down his chin.

Looked to me more like the natural path of his arm coming down, if he had winding up it would go higher

Re: 5th Test
Here are the series averages. What a pity this was the last test of the summer and it's still only July.

Re: 5th Test
Just wrote a longish post that vanished.
I wanted to say what a series! What a finale for Broad! A few dull moments when Australia batted but not many.
