Out go the English

I didn't see either match, but the stats for City v Real are interesting:

Home Team Man City Away Team Real Madrid

Possession
Home 67% Away33%

Shots
Home 33 Away 8

Shots on Target
Home 9 Away 3

Corners
Home 18 Away 1

Fouls
Home 15 Away 11

33 shots against the 9 of Real but less than 30% of City's shots on target.
Could it be that that Haaland has gone off the boil? He was a sensation last year finding goal scoring easy and fun. Not so now.
It's a phenomenon that can happen to golfers, indeed any sport where that final touch is vital. There's a little demon sitting on the shoulder that says "Your gonna miss". The Yips.

I think with Haaland of last year playing City would have won convincingly.

Perhaps someone who saw the match can comment.

I only saw the second half and extra time. To be honest, you wouldn’t have known Haaland was playing and he was replaced by Alvarez for extra time. I think he’s been found out by top defenders. He’s very one dimensional and if you don’t leave room in behind for him to use his pace, he’s actually not that great in the air for his size.

I have to admit, watching City games bores the crap out of me in the same way the worst tippy-happy excesses of Guardiola’s Barcelona did.
