Trying to find the book. I have recently reorganised my books and cannot find anything. What was the title?

Sticking to the Scottish theme, I walked through the Lairig Ghru a very long time ago when I was still at school. We got a bus to Inverey I think and walked for however many miles it is to the north end and were picked up somewhere around Coylumbridge. Despite my love of Scotland I then left to live in Hong Kong and nowadays (60 years later or so) prefer (that is not the right expression, maybe 'find it easier') to walk on the north west coast around Torridon to Poolewe.

The youth hostel is still there Dod. In fact we chatted to a very well spoken lady from Edinburgh who said that her and her husband stayed there last night....

Used to walk every week in Shropshire (Rail Rambles) mostly and around Pendle in Lancs.

Did a few walks in the lakes as well Scarfel Pike (twice) springs to mind, first time I nearly died of hypothermia when the fog came down on the plateau.

We did it again a couple years later, we were blessed with superb weather and reached the top to our great satisfaction.

Am late to these posts but have greatly enjoyed them. I also have been a keen walker for many years. Love visiting the Lake District, Scotland and Wales when I get the chance. A couple of years ago my wife and I walked a couple of hundred miles of the Camino de Santiago, and loved every moment. The approach into Santiago de Compostela was amazing, but pretty much all of the walk was outstanding. We continued on past Santiago to finish on the coast at Fisterra as is traditionally done. The next year we spent a couple of weeks walking the south-west of Portugal which we also enjoyed. This year we haven't been able to do so much, other than in my own patch, which mainly includes the wonderful South Downs, so no hardship. It dovetails nicely with my other hobbies of painting and photography. I walked the Seven Sisters a couple of weeks ago in stunning sunshine, the light was amazing and I took some really nice photos (here is the twitter link for one of them https://twitter.com/thomasephoto/status ... 67617?s=12 ) I have also painted that classic scene of Cuckmere Haven and even was asked to go on Landscape Artist of the Year by Sky Arts on the strength of it but luckily I couldn't make the relevant date ( don't think that painting with a TV camera on my would be for me). Next year we plan on doing the Via Fracigena in Italy over a couple of weeks in Spring or early Summer and I plan on doing the South Downs Way after years of procrastinating.
