Premier Inn early check in

#654457

Postby smokey01 » March 19th, 2024, 7:36 am

I will be staying at a Premier Inn soon. I note they now charge £10 to check in early. Has anyone experienced whether this gets enforced if just trying to check in 15 to 30 minutes early?

In the case of only slightly early check in, I've found it comes down to whether the room is actually ready when you show up.

There's always the possibility though that there isn't a person on the reception desk until 15.00 for check in purposes in which case I'd guess the terminal book in facility wouldn't allow early check in. Computer says no...

Some Premier Inns have self check-in via machines that spit out your room key card. I imagine they do not work before the official time.

Same for hotels that let you check-in via a phone, where your phone becomes your room key.

I have had good luck checking in as early as 11 a.m. with Hiltons in particular. But the choice of rooms that early may be limited and your chance of a room upgrade may be lower.
