I have an annual travel insurance policy with AXA PPP travel, which obviously hasn't been used very much this year due to covid19/lockdown.
It generally suits my needs, and I reckon it's worthwhile compared to the hassle and combined cost of taking out a single-trip policy every time I travel.
I have just had a letter (unprompted) from the travel insurance with a £25 gift card, as an interim refund, saying that there'll be a further refund next March.

Caveat
- the travel premium is due for the renewal in June each year, and the latest renewal premium is +15% on an annual premium of £300 (so I'll be expecting enough of a refund to net out to a premium deduction this year, which shouldn't be unreasonable...)
- I also have a PMI policy with AXA PPP so I'll be wondering (hoping?) if there'll be reduction on that too (see e.g. https://www.ft.com/content/7c48ef55-ab09-4433-b222-320031bb76e8 via Google: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=site%3Aft.com+UK+private+medical+insurers+under+pressure+to+refund+payments)
