Emirates BOGOF!
We very recently bought two tickets to Australia on credit card.
There is a problem however and Emirates have halved the total cost and only charged for one person. As seen on the CC transactions. Nothing more pending.
We cannot contact Emirates owing to extremely high volumes.
Any ideas please?

No idea but I have in the past physically gone to the airport to resolve an issue with an airline when I cannot get them on the phone. It has to be during the time window of their flights of course.
It doesn't have to be the airport you are leaving from - Emirates currently flies from Heathrow, Gatwick, Birmingham. Manchester and Newcastle. They also have a ticket office at 95 Cromwell Road in London SW7 but I have never been there or used it so cannot be sure that works.

Are you able to check the details of your booking through their website?
If not, try a phone number to one of their other UK airport offices.

If you log on to Emirates website with the booking reference, does it show two tickets?
If not, then you have your answer. If there's two tickets shown, either Emirates gave you a bogof or there's a mistake?

We have two tickets on Skywards but no still change to the CC entry for one only.
We will monitor the CC statement for a few days in case Emirates charge correctly.
Otherwise we will keep trying to ring.

I really cannot understand why you can't contact them. At least, just send them an email.
For what it's worth, they can be surprisingly generous. They phoned me (about 5 years ago) because they had overbooked a long-haul flight and were looking for volunteers to take a separate flight. This was to be with Qatar.
When I got the details, we agreed immediately. For agreeing, we were offered a free return flight anywhere in the world - but not quite as far as Australia - within 3 years.
The flight with Qatar turned out to be even better than Emirates. A much shorter stopover in Doha, rather than the ridiculously large Dubai airport and of course, all those UAE flights are more or less the same.
But just confirm all this by email or even registered letter.

We have since spoken to a human at Emirates who confirmed that the full price for two tickets was taken.
We have also chatted with a human at Halifax who says they cannot amend a merchant,s request for a payment.
So atm we have bought one and got one free!
