Cyprus holiday ideas

Looking for a bit of inspiration
I have 4 life-long friends who were planning to go away next year when we all turn 65 (in consecutive months !)
Owing to geographical residency we meet up 4 or 5 times a year, last night was one of those, tonight is another
They all know about my MND diagnosis, so we agreed to bring the holiday forward to this year, probably in September, as I don't know about my future.

Our clubbing days are long gone, so I guess we are looking for a place with a few decent bars for night time and scenic walks and exploration for the days.
A decent beach wouldn't go amiss
None of us are keen on screaming kids (sorry mums and dads)
We can hire a car if that would be useful
Any ideas for best location or hotels would be greatly appreciated.

I've been there several times and Paphos is very pleasant and I can recommend the Annabelle hotel. Also stayed twice at the Aphrodite Palace Hotel 15 mins out of Paphos but really only for golfers.

Paphos has a new airport and Easyjet fly there.

Early autumn trip. We stayed in a villa in Mandria which is a village along the coast (5 miles) from Paphos lovely bars, nice people.
Paphos itself has some good restaurants but we enjoyed Mandria much more. On our first evening went to a bar, lovely meal and several ice cold draught pints of Guinness siting under a grape vine covered terrace. When it was time to walk (sort of) back to the villa the waitress told us that their credit card machine was broken so could we pay cash? I didn’t have any! No problem she said pop in when you are passing tomorrow.
Mandria has a beach, it’s not developed and seemed very popular with surfers and boarders.
Really enjoyed the Kato Paphos Archaeological Park (mosaics were lovely) but you need a few hours here.
The Promenade and Fort are a nice evening excursion on Paphos sea front but are a little too touristy for me.
Went for a day’s drive up into the Trodus Mountains visiting churches and monasteries, also did the Caledonia Waterfall Trail
Drove the wine route and visited a couple of very nice wineries (Vouni Panayia Winery made us very welcome)
Went over the Ledra Street Crossing Point into the North and had lunch at the Büyük Han caravansara and just wandered around.
Visited a couple of other coastal place while we were there but these were our highlights.

however the trip has been aborted as no travel insurer will cover me
there are other reasons which I won't bore you with
so it is now a holiday closer to home
possibly a boat on the Norfolk broads (I did that many years ago, and it is good fun~)
I just want to go anywhere with my friends

Insurance? Bar stewards the lot of them!

That said I would have expected there to be specialist firms, a quick Google throwing up https://www.allcleartravel.co.uk/medical-conditions/motor-neurone-disease/

And if you really want to go you could just consider self insuring?

I did see that site yesterday, but they want a phone number and I don't want to be pestered, a) and b) one of my many MND symptoms is very slurred speech, so it sounds like I am pi** ed, but I'm not

I do get the sense of "can't be bothered" whenever a form asks for a number - but if it was to get me on a plane to Cyprus I'd probably make an exception

[a] if this is what they specialise in then they will have encountered it all before
[b] having worked in a call centre for a while as a student we were all drunk anyway (and seeing as it was in Glasgow - we sounded drunk even if we weren't)
