Northern Lights autumn 2024

Another bucket list item to tick off. Last year was the laburnum arch at Bodnant Gardens, this year a bit further afield. We want to cross into the Artic Circle and see the Northern Lights in Oct/Nov this year and are thinking a Norwegian cruise will give us the best chance to see them. Ten or twelve nights at sea with a balcony cabin is favourite at the moment. Has anyone been on one recently ? We've been on a cruise before on a large ship which was ok but we favour a small ship, adults only (or in school term) and ain't bothered about onboard entertainment and dining with the captain etc. Fred Olsen have a fleet of smaller ships (1300 passengers) aren't too expensive and seem to get some decent reviews. Any hints, tips or recommendations would be welcomed.
