My Mint Linux seems to update something or other on a daily basis.
It asks me first.

Here is an article on how to configure automatic updates with Linux Mint:

Today we are looking at Windows 11 LTSC. This is a lite version of Windows 11 that comes without bloat, without system requirements, and comes directly from Microsoft. This is NOT a debloated copy of Windows 11. This version comes directly from Microsoft as a retail product.

So my Dell 7010 with the 2 x SSD's (W10/Mint) went pop last week. :(

I found a cheap S/H power pack off Ebay for £15 and it arrived yesterday. In the meantime, I dismantled the Dell ready for the new power pack and noted I had 2 spare memory slots (it had 2 x 8gb chips in it). I had a quick look on Amazon and found 2 more 8gb RAM chips were only £14 for the pair. So they were ordered and in they went.

....and I've just spent this morning installing everything. No dramas, nothing adverse to share (for once!), just pleased at keeping the old girl on the road. And the extra RAM makes a big difference.
