If it's the Yahoo app you're unhappy with, why not use the built in Apple Mail app to deal with your Yahoo email?

Maybe that's what it is and I just don't have the terminology.

It's whatever was on the ipad when I got it. So there's the envelope icon and I set my email to go in there.

If you're describing https://media.idownloadblog.com/wp-cont ... l-size.jpg , that is the standard iPad mail app.

You could try downloading the actual Yahoo! email app from the App store, and seeing if you like that better.
