I have Samsung phone, and yesterday used dr.phone to backup my whatsapp data to my pc. The process seemed to work, although at one point the phone ‘whatsapp’ asked for my phone number and name, which I gave it.
At the end there was no data on my pc, my original whatsapp was empty, and a new one had been created with 3 groups. No contacts, no chats, all empty.
I was able to find files for media and document on the phone, and copy them to the pc, but the chat data seems to be in small files with extension crypt1.
I realise that I have phone memory and a data card, is it possible to find the missing data and recover it to the pc? dr.phone doesn’t seem very friendly, and provides no help.
(I don't know how to look in the data card, or the phone memory, individually. I'm not that knowledgable on phones.)
Thanks.
